Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden title for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, winning just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - caused him dropping out of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Now training with his coach and Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is the player's maiden championship following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court from spring of 2023.

The win also signifies Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to approach the net and play positively, supported by an better serve.

Medvedev came back from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging opponent, winning four of the last five points to take the lead.

Both players traded break points in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his first ATP Tour title, took control to force a third set.

The opponent rescued 4 early-game break points in a close final set before the Russian broke to that score to secure the win.

Appropriately, he earned the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
