Nearly 25,000 households in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, bringing wind gusts hitting 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Homeowners reported large ice chunks measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Victoria's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 households in Victoria also faced power outages after Melbourne experienced its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
Rescue organizations handled over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, primarily for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.
